Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Starlite Blinds & Shutters, LLC ("Starlite," "we," "us") collects when you use this website, contact us, or use Starlite OS as an authorized team member, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it. We are a family-owned window treatment company based in The Woodlands, Texas, serving the Greater Houston area.
1. What we collect
Information you give us directly. When you submit the consultation form on this site, we ask for:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your ZIP code, so we can confirm you are in our service area
- Your email address (optional)
- Which products you are interested in
- For some quote-guide forms, your preferred contact time and selected priorities or system
- Whether you chose the optional SMS-consent box
If you call or text us, we keep a record of the conversation and the number you called from. If you become a customer, we also keep the measurements, product selections and installation details for your project — we need those to make and warranty what we build for you.
Connected business-system information. Starlite OS may retrieve and temporarily store sent estimates and invoices from our authorized QuickBooks Online company. This can include customer name, document number, project reference, issue or due date, amount, balance, delivery status and related billing contact details. We use this information only for Starlite's internal project, billing and customer-service work. We do not use the QuickBooks connection to initiate payments.
Starlite OS camera and Google Drive. An authorized administrator connects Starlite's dedicated Google account. The app verifies the account email and uses permissions for specific Drive files created or selected with the app. With camera permission, an operator can preview a project photo and choose to upload it to Starlite's approved folder. The browser keeps an unsaved preview in tab memory; closing or reloading may lose it, and device/browser temporary storage may apply. The app does not request microphone access or ask the device to save the capture to its photo library.
Google Drive stores the uploaded photo. Starlite OS stores its project and client references, file identifiers, link, filename, size, timestamp and checksum to organize and verify it. Cloudflare hosts the private app and processes photo bytes during upload; photo bytes are not stored in its CRM database. Connection credentials are stored encrypted on the server. The folder selector receives a short-lived access token in browser memory.
We use Google account and Drive information for these project operations, not advertising or general-purpose AI training. Uploading a photo does not make it public or authorize marketing use. Our use of information from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this one records basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how you arrived here, and how long you stay. This happens through Google Tag Manager and the tools connected to it, described in section 3.
2. How we use it
- To contact you about the consultation you requested and to schedule it
- To create a private reminder in our Starlite Google Calendar to follow up within 24 hours, including the contact details and preferences you submitted
- To confirm we serve your area before you spend time on a call
- To prepare and deliver your quote, order and installation
- To show authorized Starlite staff the sent QuickBooks estimate or invoice that matches a project, so they can give accurate project and billing support
- To store approved project photos in Starlite's Google Drive folder, verify the upload and link the file to the correct project
- To honor warranty claims, which requires knowing what we installed and when
- If you opt in, to send the text messages described in section 5
- To understand which pages and ads actually bring people to us, so we spend our advertising budget sensibly
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with other companies for their own marketing.
3. Analytics, advertising and cookies
The public marketing website runs Google Tag Manager, which loads Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion and remarketing tags, and the Meta (Facebook) pixel. In plain terms: Google and Meta may set cookies in your browser that let us see how the site is performing overall, and that may cause you to see Starlite ads on Google, Facebook or Instagram after you visit us.
What we see in those reports is aggregate — traffic, page performance, how many people submitted a form. We do not use these tools to identify you personally.
You can control this. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings, and Google offers an opt-out for Analytics attools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptoutand ad personalization controls atmyadcenter.google.com. Meta's ad preferences are ataccountscenter.facebook.com/ad_preferences. Blocking cookies will not stop you from using this site or requesting a consultation.
4. Who else sees your information
We share information only where it is necessary to actually do the work:
- Our installation crew. The installers who come to your home get your name, address, appointment time and what is being installed. Nothing else.
- Our suppliers and manufacturers. To fabricate a custom order, and to process a warranty claim, we pass along what the product requires — typically measurements and the shipping address.
- Service providers. Cloudflare hosts this site and the private Starlite OS app, including its database and upload processing. Google Drive stores selected project media and provides account authorization. Resend delivers our inquiry email, and Google Calendar stores submitted consultation details in Starlite's private calendar for follow-up reminders. Intuit QuickBooks Online provides accounting records that Starlite has chosen to connect to Starlite OS for internal reference. Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Google Ads and Meta provide analytics and advertising services for the public marketing website. Each provider receives information needed for its function.
- When the law requires it. If we receive a valid legal demand, or need to protect our rights or someone's safety.
5. Text messages and calls
SMS program. If you check the optional SMS-consent box on a Starlite form, you agree that Starlite may text the number you provide about your consultation, quote, installation and occasional Starlite offers. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Consent is not required to get a quote or make a purchase. We keep a record of your consent choice with your inquiry.
Reply STOP to opt out of text messages or HELP for help. Stopping texts does not cancel an appointment or order; for an active project, please contact us by phone or email. We do not sell or share your phone number with other companies for their own marketing.
6. How long we keep it
If you request a consultation and do not become a customer, we keep your inquiry for about two years — people often come back to a project they postponed. If you become a customer, we keep your project records for as long as the warranty could reasonably be claimed, since we cannot honor a warranty on a job we have no record of. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.
QuickBooks information held in Starlite OS is a limited operational copy. We remove that copy when an authorized administrator disconnects QuickBooks or when it is no longer needed for the purpose above. Accounting records in QuickBooks are retained according to Starlite's accounting obligations and QuickBooks settings.
Project media records and upload receipts are kept for the same project and warranty purposes described above. The Google account owner can revoke the app's access; this stops future authorized access but does not automatically delete existing Drive photos or project records. Contact Starlite using the details below to request review or deletion, subject to records we must retain. Archiving a Vault record does not delete its Drive file.
7. Your choices
You can contact us at any time to:
- Ask what information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Ask us to delete it, subject to records we are required to keep
- Tell us to stop contacting you for marketing
Write to support@starliteblinds.com or call832-472-6613. We are a small company, so this reaches a person, not a queue. Texas residents may have additional rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act; we will honor requests under that law where it applies to us.
8. Security
This site is served over an encrypted connection, and form submissions are transmitted encrypted. We limit access to customer information to the people who need it to do their job. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise — but we do not store payment card numbers on this website at all.
9. Children
This site is meant for adults arranging window treatments for a home or business. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
